BIOSIS reloads its file in XML

Of particular importance are the changes to the Biosystematic Codes. Codes referring to viruses have been restructured as have many of the virus classifiers. In addition, Biosystematic Codes are now uniformly applied throughout the file. Please click through the link for a complete listing of changed codes and terms.


BIOSIS enhances its database files:

  • Adds CAS® Registry Number entries
    back to 1969
  • Relocates MeSH disease terms
    within the Diseases field
  • Sequence Databank Numbers
    updated and expanded
  • Adds Major Concepts controlled
    vocabulary back to 1969
  • Adds Super Taxa and Taxa
    Notes fields back to 1969
  • Time field renamed Geologic Time
