The Controlled Vocabulary (Authority File) contains lists of the controlled vocabulary terms used in BIOSIS Previews, Biological Abstracts and Biological Abstracts/RRM databases from 1993 forward. In most implementations of the databases, controlled vocabulary terms are accompanied by information including Broader and Narrower Terms. Related Terms, Used For Terms, and Scope Notes.

While appearance and search capabilities of the Controlled Vocabulary will vary depending on the search system you are using, the terms contained within the lists will remain constant. For more detailed information on specific search systems, see the search system manual or help file.
